ABOUT SNOWMASS

Snowmass, with over 3,300 acres of ski terrain, is the largest of the four mountains that make up the Aspen/Snowmass resort—Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. Together, the four mountains provide 5,547 acres of world-class skiing, all accessible with a single lift ticket.

Designed as a ski-in, ski-out resort, most Snowmass Village accommodations are slopeside. Convenient, free transportation services include shuttle buses that run throughout the village, skier shuttles that serve the four mountains, and service that continues into the evening between Snowmass and Aspen.

With twenty-one lifts providing access to over 3,332 acres of ski terrain, Snowmass offers a variety of slopes to challenge every level of skier and snowboarder—cruisers, steeps, glades, off-piste, terrain parks, superpipe and the longest lift-served vertical rise in the United States. Long, groomed intermediate runs offer unparalleled cruising, while experts can experience back-country terrain. Skier shuttles serve the four mountains of Aspen/Snowmass throughout the day until 4:45 p.m. Evening service between Aspen and Snowmass continues until 2:15 a.m. The last bus from Snowmass to Aspen is at 1:15 a.m.

Parking: Parking throughout the village is by permit. Lodges that do not have their own parking facilities can assist guests in obtaining the required pass for a convenient/nearby village lot.

Note: Eagle County (Vail) airport, which is approximately a 1½-hour drive from Snowmass, is preferred by some travelers because the Aspen airport is more prone than others to weather-related closures.
